AAP Stages Protest at Delhi Secretariat, Clanging Plates to Wake Up BJP Government Ignoring Pollution (X)

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a strong protest outside the Delhi Secretariat on Tuesday, clanging plates to wake up the BJP government, which they accused of ignoring Delhi's pollution problem.

AAP's Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj, along with MLAs and leaders, taunted CM Rekha Gupta and chanted, "Pollution, you have to go!" They were subsequently detained by the police. Saurabh Bhardwaj said that CM Rekha Gupta is in a deep sleep. We clanged plates and spoons to wake her up.

If she wakes up, that's great; otherwise, we will try to wake her up again. If Delhi's pollution is to be reduced, the BJP government must stop its fraudulent practices and work honestly.

What Saurabh Bhardwaj said?

Regarding the clanging of plates and spoons, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that they used the same method that PM Modi had suggested during the lockdown. Modi ji had asked people to clang plates to drive away Corona; similarly, we clanged plates to say, "Pollution, you have to go!"

He said that the Rekha Gupta government now needs to work on AQI and learn what AQI actually is. The BJP government is engaging in fraudulent practices at AQI monitoring centers. Water is being sprinkled at the monitoring centers. New monitoring centers are being set up inside forests so that the pollution levels appear lower.

What he said about BJP govt and Yamuna river?

A fake Yamuna River is also being created. The BJP government should understand that pollution will not be reduced through fraudulent practices, as construction work is going on day and night right under the government's nose. We also have a question for BJP minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa: he was supposed to induce artificial rain, but it hasn't happened yet, has it?

Saurabh Bhardwaj said that there is a scientific reason for the increase in pollution during the month of December. The Supreme Court introduced the GRAP rules so that pollution could be controlled by imposing restrictions as soon as it increased, but the BJP government started manipulating the data and shutting down monitoring centers.

Because of this, when the AQI is 800, the government reports 350, and when it crosses 1000, they only report 400. He said that the entire Delhi is suffering due to pollution, but the GRAP restrictions are not being implemented. This government is anti-science; they don't even know how to pronounce AQI. The BJP Chief Minister sometimes calls AQI AIQ, sometimes IQI, and sometimes even temperature. May God save us from such a Chief Minister.

Before the protest, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that today the AQI in Punjab is between 80 and 100. The central government itself is saying that there has been a 93 percent reduction in stubble burning incidents in Punjab. Stubble is not being burned anywhere in the country, yet Delhi's AQI is above 450. Therefore, there is chaos among the people.

The situation has become like a medical emergency for children and the elderly, and hospitals are overflowing with patients. But Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is not doing anything. It seems that CM Rekha Gupta's departure is inevitable. The Chief Minister of Delhi will be changed soon. That's why Rekha Gupta even went to meet the new BJP president, to somehow save her chair. But I don't think her chair will be saved.

Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the government should have first followed the GRAP rules created by the Supreme Court, and the odd-even scheme should have been implemented under GRAP-4. They did not implement the odd-even scheme. Are Rekha Gupta or BJP minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa more educated than the Supreme Court judges? These people couldn't even enforce the GRAP rules. Whether it's GRAP 2, GRAP 3, or GRAP 4, nothing changes in Delhi.

The same vehicles that were running before are still running, and the government's construction projects that were underway are still continuing. Everything is the same. Is the traffic police enforcing the rules anywhere?

Saurabh Bhardwaj said that a government that came into power with the sole purpose of engaging in fraud, how can that government reduce pollution? Because from day one, they decided that pollution couldn't be reduced, so they focused on how to manipulate the AQI (Air Quality Index). They started setting up AQI monitoring centers in the forests, and when pollution increases, they shut down the centers.

On Diwali night, they shut down all the monitoring centers so that the correct pollution data wouldn't be available. Now they are spraying water on the monitoring centers. From day one, their intention was to deceive, and they thought they would fool people with their fraudulent practices and pollution would continue, but that didn't happen. The Chief Minister who came into power through fraudulent means has now been exposed, and Delhi needs a new Chief Minister.

There is no "global recognition" for India; instead, India has become a red stain spewing poison - Saurabh Bhardwaj.

What Saurabh Bhardwaj posted on social media?

Saurabh Bhardwaj said on X (formerly Twitter) that India is not making any significant impact on the world stage. This is a picture of a silent genocide in which ordinary Indian citizens, and especially our children, are dying every day without a sound. While in large parts of the world the air still seems to promise life, India has become a red stain spewing poison. Even in a resource-poor continent like Africa, the AQI (Air Quality Index) is green and yellow, but in so-called "world leader" India, breathing has become not a privilege, but an exhausting struggle.

He said that this is not just a failure of governments, but the collective, guilt-ridden silence of a society that has been shouting about religion, caste, elections, and hollow nationalism, but has remained silent on air, water, and life itself. Those who still don't understand this seriously are themselves condemning their own children to grow up in poisonous air. Future generations will not forgive us. Because in the name of "development," we have mortgaged their future, their breath, and their lives—everything.

In another post, Saurabh Bhardwaj also shared a video of a helpless animal in Delhi suffering from pollution-related illness. He said it is shocking that after young children and the elderly, even animals are now falling ill due to pollution in Delhi. Even pets are needing nebulizers because of the pollution.
